HISTORICAL SOCIETY PROFILE
The aim of the society is tO:
as Brown Coal Mine, by developing a permanent display venue for community
North and District, including photographic, oral and visual historical material.
The Society conducts monthly meetings on the third Monday of each month at the Old Brown Coal Mine Museum, Yallourn North at 1.00 pm. The Museum is located on the corner of Third Street and Latrobe River Road, Yallourn North, Victoria. The Society is a not for profit organization.
The Society structure is as follows:
President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Archivist.
The museum committee consists of the above positions plus two other people for museum rosters and functions.
New members are most welcome.
Membership: Single $10.00 per year
Family $20.00 per year (Two adults & Children under 15 years old)
Please note: After the AGM in August 2015, membership fees will rise to Single $15.00 and Family $30.00
The Museum is open on weekends and most Public holidays.
Open times: 10.00am – 4.00pm September to May
11.00am – 3.00pm June July & August open Sundays only
Entry cost Adults $5.00 (applicable from Jan 2015)
Children $1.00 accompanied with adult

Access for the disabled is provided from the car park area, and the Museum has facilities for the disabled.
